The hitherto known desublimators are provided in the interior with bundles composed of finned tubes, through which a cooling or heating medium is alternately passed, in order to obtain a product contained in a gas/vapour mixture. However, in small-scale desublimators, this method of construction leads to laborious heating, to channelling and to high construction and production costs. According to the invention, instead of the finned tubes, plates 26 are now attached in the interior of the housing 1 to the housing side walls. The cooling or heating medium is only conducted via channels which are arranged on the outside of the housing side walls. The heat transfer is carried out by the channels on the housing side walls to the plates 26. The advantage of this arrangement is the use of any weldable material for the plates 26. Leaks and channelling are avoided. Steam can now be used for heating and water for cooling. Construction and production costs are low. The plates 26 can be straight and run vertically. However, zigzag-shaped or wave-shaped plates are also possible. The plates can penetrate from top to bottom or they can be provided in a plurality of rows arranged one above the other. <IMAGE>
