The invention relates to an articulated device for rapid displacement of a foot-rest bar. The invention lies in the fact that each extremity of the foot-rest bar 23 is connected to an articulated device which comprises a support 10 for a fixed axle 14 and a plate 15 having a notched slot 21. The extremity of the bar 23 is fastened to a rocker bar 20 which comprises a slot 21 and a stud 25 which locks into the slot 21. The invention is used for foot-rest bars on work tables and for all systems in which an operator must move a control member from one locked position to another locked position. <IMAGE>
