The invention relates to an impulse tachometer generator having a pole pin (12, 15), a coil (13) arranged coaxially with the pole pin (12, 15) and serving as a tap winding, and a magnet (6) which is operationally connected to the pole pin (12, 15). The region of the pole pin (12, 15) surrounded by the coil (13) is constructed in a stepped fashion, the region (15) of the pole pin (12, 15) which has the smaller cross-section facing a rotor (18, 17) which interacts with the impulse tachometer generator. A higher efficiency and a smaller design of the impulse tachometer generator are achieved by such a construction of the pole pin (12, 15).
