<p>PURPOSE:To improve product yield by estimating the temperature distributions in the width and thickness directions of a slab with respect to the temperatures detected at plural positions in the width direction of the slab and controlling the heating of slab ends according to the estimated results. CONSTITUTION:When a slab 13 transferred by transfer rolls 12 comes, the temperatures in the width direction of the front and rear ends of the upper surface of slab 13 are measured by a measuring device 11. The temperature distribution in the sheet width direction is computed based on the measured values by using a prescribed equation with the aid of a computer 14. A required heat input of a heating device 10 and a slab transferring speed based on the prescribed equation are computed by a computer 15 according to the temperature distributions in the width and sheet thickness directions of slab. Further, a slab-position detector 20 detects the front and rear ends of slab and inputs the detecting signal to the computor 15, to control the heating device 10 by an input-heat control device 19. Necessary controls of the rolls 12 are performed by a speed detector 17 and a speed control device 16. By this method, the slab is rolled at uniform temperature, and its yield is improved.</p> |
