SPEECH CHARACTER DISPLAY DEVICE POSSIBLE FOR USE IN REPRODUCING SYSTEM OF VIDEO SOUND RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To display translated characters on a display device in synchronizing with a speech of an original language by allowing a viewer to apply simple operation during the reproduction without changing information recorded on a video sound recording medium being an original version. CONSTITUTION:The sound and video signal from a video tape 12A or a video disc 12B is fed to a display device 15 of a television receiver form and the video and sound are reproduced and, the marking recorded in advance on an free channel of the sound signal or the blanking part of the video signal is detected during the reproduction and fed to a speech character display device 13 as a character display control signal while being detected during the reproduction. A speech character display device 13 gives a reproducing control signal to a translation version reproducer 16A from an output terminal G based on the said control signal and the reproduced and outputted speech character signal is received by an input terminal F. This signal is converted into a signal for an exclusive display device 17 so as to output a character display signal and the speech character 18 of the translated word is displayed in synchronizing with the sound and pattern of the display device 15.
