PURPOSE:To prevent beforehand an accident resulting in injury or death from being produced due to cutter breakage or leakage by providing a leakage protector for forcing a cutter to take refugi from a material to be cut upon leakage production, whereby releasing engagement therebetween and interrupting power supply to a gear cutter. CONSTITUTION:Produced leakage in a gear cutting state by a gear cutter, a leakage detection coil 31a is operated to close a contact 31b, and a relay coil 33 is energyzed to throw contacts 34, 35. Hereby, a timer coil 36 is energyzed to close a contact 37 after the elapse of prescribed time, while with the contact 35 thrown, a feed motor 6 is driven by a refuge controller 7a of a gear cutting control unit 7 to force a hob cutter to take refuge from a material to be cut. When the above refuge is effected over a prescribed distance and a limit switch 11 is thrown, a tripping coil 30a is energized to opena power supply line 9, whereby power supply to respective motors 2, 5, 6 is interrupted. |
