The rubber mat holder (1) consists of a holding element (10) which can be clamped tight to the edge of a rubber mat (4) and of an insertion needle (16) which is bent in a U-shape and provided at the ends of its free legs (12) with points (14) and with its web (18) is swivellably mounted in a bearing opening (20) of the holding element (10). In the use according to specifications, the rubber mat holder (1) is initially pushed with obliquely downwardly pointing needle (16) at a suitable point into an existing carpet (5) until it strikes against the holding element (10).
