In a device for connecting one or more hauling strands to a load, preferably as an attachment point for transport in underground operation, consisting of a joint which has a stirrup welded to the load and an eye which is preferably made of chain steel, is closed upon itself and is supported in a rounded portion of the stirrup and on adjoining stirrup legs, provision is made according to the invention for the stirrup legs to be shortened to the length of the lateral support of the eye, and for each leg to have an inclined surface which starts from the transition of the rounded portion of the stirrup and extends up to the connection surface of the stirrup on the load and runs continuously along the eye section running through the stirrup and from the inside of the stirrup up to the outside of the relevant stirrup leg, and for each inclined surface to form a boundary on one side for a weld which extends across the entire leg cross-section.
