<p>PURPOSE:To control simultaneously and satisfactorily the shape and crown of a strip by measuring them at the outlet side of a final rolling stand and obtaining their adjusting quantities basing on a process model set previously to control respective rolling stands. CONSTITUTION:In a control processing unit 6, a storage device 60 is made to store the rolling and limiting conditions of a rolling material S, and a storage device 61 is made to store an optimum process model. The shape and crown of strip S are measured at the outlet side of the final rolling stands 1-3 of a group 7 of finishing mills by measuring devices 3, 4, to input the measured values to shape and crown recognition devices 63, 64. Successively in a control arithmetic unit 65, an adjusting quantity, which minimizes the value of evaluation function obtained by integrating a shape parameter and a crown one outputted from respective devices 63, 64 and the shape and crown of the strip obtained from a profile model of the device 61, is obtained to operate the control units of respective rolling stands 1-1, 1-2, 1-3.</p> |
