OPTICAL MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT FOR AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE:To decrease the loss of an optical signal and also its manufacture cost by connecting a part of a steering column of an optical multiplex communication equipment for automobile and a part of the steering wheel by means of one optical slip ring. CONSTITUTION:Each light wavelength is lighted by applying the light from a power supply 11 to light sources 51, 52, 53 via an electric slip ring 14. When light shield parts 41-43 are in proper switching state to the light sources 51-53, the transmission/interruption of each light of wavelengths lambda1-lambda3 is selected and a prescribed signal state is generated. The optical signal obtained in such a way is subject to wave synthesizing and multiplexing by a synthesizer 3, transmitted to photodetectors 91-93 and also to a branching filter 8 in a control unit 7 via an optical slip ring 1 and processed by a signal processing circuit. Since the light sources 51-53 are provided to the turning part of the steering wheel in such a way, the provision of one optical slip ring is enough for connecting each optical system of the turning part and fixed part.
