When changing the friction material for brake drums for lorries the shoes must be demounted in order for them to be riveted in a so-called riveting machine. The invention refers to a method for avoiding the demounting of brake shoes. These are instead riveted in place with the aid of portable so-called blind-riveting equipment. The rivets are of brass or copper and the blind-rivets mandrel can remain fixed at the pin, as in its turn is furnished with an indication of fracture, so that the pin is first torn off when a truly worn closing-head is formed.<IMAGE> |
