PURPOSE:The titled agent that contains a specific metal compound and another compound which can form a chelate together with the above metal ion, thus showing high fungicidal effect on plants and strengthening the resistance of the plant to diseases, especially being very effective in combatting disease-causative fungi infected through rain. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains (A) a compound of Li, Na, K, Mg, Ca, Ti, Mo, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Ag, Au, Zn, Al, P or S and (B) a compound which forms a chelate compound or insoluble coating films together with metal ions of component A such as a fatty acid, fatty acid ester from an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol, sucrose fatty acid ester, powdery pure lecithin, 8-oxyquinolinol, crown ether, polyphosphoric acid or polyphosphate salts, plant gums, wax, tannic acid, pullulan, alginic acid or its salts, phytin, phytinate. The chelate formation from the ion of component A and plant components can be avoided to effectively work in inhibition of metabolic cycles of the disease-causative microorganisms. Further, the component A shows an effect to accelerate the growth of the plant by acting as a trace element for the plant.
