PURPOSE:To obtain the titled spinning stock solution having uniformity and high viscosity, providing yarn having high tensile strength and high modulus of elasticity, by dissolving a high-molecular weight polyolefin by an agitated dissolver of cloed type in an atmosphere replaced with N2 under heating under specific conditions, blending it further under specified conditions, allowing it to stand so that it is deaerated. CONSTITUTION:In dissolving a polyolefin having >=800,000 weight-average molecular weight in a solvent having >=130 deg.C boiling point to give 3-15wt% solution, an agitated dissolver of closed type is used, an atmosphere is replaced with N2, the olefin is blended and dissolved in the solvent with stirring them at <=500Torr internal pressure under heating at 2-10 deg.C/minute rate of heating. The solution is blended with keeping the relationship between the heating temperature T1( deg.C) at the top of the dissolver and the heating temperature T2( deg.C) at the bottom of it satisfying the equation T1=T2-30, with keeping a temperature >=120 deg.C and < the boiling point of the solvent, and 200-760Torr internal pressure, it is allowed to stand so that it is deaerated, to give the desired spinning stock solution.
