PURPOSE:An acrylate resin plate improved in heat and impact resistances, obtained by adding a specified di- or tri-functional compound to a composition containing a methyl methacrylate polymer or copolymer and a methyl methacrylate monomer and polymerizing the resulting mixture in a mold. CONSTITUTION:A composition comprising a methyl methacrylate homopolymer and/or a methyl methacrylate-based copolymer and a monomer containing 50% methyl methacrylate is mixed with 3-30%, based on the total weight, compounds of formulas I and/or II, and the resulting mixture is polymerized in a mold to obtain the purpose acrylate resin plate. In formula I , n is 3-6, and MA is methacryloyl, and in formula II, R1 is H, CH3, C2H5 or CH2OH, R2 is formula III (wherein R4 is H or CH3), or CH2OH, R3 is H or CH3, and R1, R2, and R3 must not be H at the same time and (MA) is (meth)acryloyl. When the amount of the compounds of formulas I and II is below 3% based on the polymerizable components, the desired heat resistance can not be obtained, while when this amount is above 30%, the impact resistance is decreased. |
