PURPOSE:To enable characters of a desired size to be obtained, by providing a font-converting means for forming a font of a desired size by applying a conversion rule to a fundamental font, in a line printer. CONSTITUTION:First, when a conversion ratio is externally designated to a font conversion ratio designating part 11, a conversion rule forming part 2 forms a conversion rule 3 by using a fundamental conversion rule 1. For example, when a conversion ratio of 1/4 reduction is designated, the fundamental conversion rule for 1/2 reduction is applied two times, then a font-converting part 5 applies the conversion rule 3 to the fundamental font 4, and a desired font is outputted as a converted font 12, whereby characters of a desired size can be obtained. Accordingly, the fundamental font can be easily converted to a desired size, and the converted font can be outputted. |
