PURPOSE:To improve the effect of the fat treatment, etc. and the yield of rice, and to exterminate rice vermin, at a low temperature under low pressure, harmlessly, by contacting the rice with a mixed solvent obtained by adding ethanol to liquid or supercritical CO2. CONSTITUTION:A pressure vessel is charged with the rice to be treated, and a mixed solvent obtained by adding (preferably 2-10wt%) ethanol to liquid or supercritical CO2 is poured into the vessel. The rice is washed with the solvent, and dried. The treated rice may be washed again with liquid or supercritical CO2 to remove ethanol. |
