PURPOSE:To prevent displacement of an upper pile and to perform safe cutting operation, by installing a pile holding device composing an underwater cutter, located in a position within an upper pile, and a lower pile supporting body, located in a position within a lower pile, which are both secured by means of a jack. CONSTITUTION:A pile holding device 6 comprises an under-water cutter 2, which is secured in a position within an upper pile 1b by means of jacks 2c, and a lower pile support body 9 which is secured in a position within a lower pile 1c by means of jacks 8. The underwater cutter 2 has a cutting device 2d, and the lower part of a rotary shaft 10 of the cutter 2 is interposed in a bearing 7 of the lower pile support body 9. During cutting of a steel pipe pile 1 by means of the cutting device 2d, the upper pile 1b and the lower pile 1c of the steel pipe pile 1 are integrally held through the rotary shaft 10 with the aid of the pile holding device 6. This prevents displacement of a part to be cut due to the occurrence of displacement of the upper pile 1b, and permits to perform a reliable and safe cutting work. |
