PURPOSE:To solidify ground to have high strength and excellent water stopping property and durability, by pouring a first soln. consisting of an aqueous soln. of an activated alkali silicate and a second soln. consisting of an aqueous soln. of a specified metal compd. separately into ground so that they may be brought into contact in the ground for solidification. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous soln. of a compd. of the formula (where M is a univalent alkali metal) which become effective at least one day after the reaction and remains effective for two weeks, is obtained when water glass, etc. is reacted with an alkali metal hydroxide for ionization and activation of silicic acid. While the compd. remains in an ionized state, the soln. and a second soln. consisting of an aqueous soln. of chloride, hydroxide or carbonate of Mn, Zn, Al of Fe are poured into ground in such a way that the two solns. may be brought into contact in the ground. the process make the most of advantages of water glass such as low cost and good penetration and improves strength and water stopping property of the grout to solidify ground to have durability equal to that of cement. |
