PURPOSE:To reduce the torque load of a CVT by dividing a torque transmission path outputting from the output shaft of a fluid type rotation transmission unit to the output shaft of a car continuously variable transmission into a path via the CVT and a path via a variable-ratio rotation transmission mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A torque transmission path outputting from the output shaft 24 of a fluid type rotation transmission unit 2 to the output shaft 7 of a car continuously variable transmission is divided into two: a torque transmission path via a CVT5 and a torque transmission path via a variable-ratio rotation transmission mechanism 4. The torque transmission path via the CVT5 is cut off at least at one of speed steps with a large deceleration ratio, and the torque via both the torque transmission paths is synthesized and outputted at the speed step with a small deceleration ratio. Accordingly, even if the torque is increased in the fluid type rotation transmission unit 2, the torque larger than the engine torque is not applied to the CVT5, thus the torque load of the CVT5 is reduced.
