PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for selecting operation or non-operation of a paper breakage detector with any separate switch by building up the paper breakage detector provided in a paper path of a printing section with a special paper detecting element, a flip flop, an AND circuit and the like. CONSTITUTION:In a printing machine so designed that many combinations of a paper breakage detector and a paper cutter adapted to cut paper on the paper supply side by a signal therefrom to prevent paper from wrapping on rollers are provided in the paper passage of a printing section to accommodate passage of paper in various ways, the paper breakage detector is made up of a paper detecting element 11 adapted to output different signals according to the presence of a printing paper, a flip flop 12 to be set by a paper presence signal among signals A from the paper detecting element 11, an AND circuit 14 which receives output from the flip flop 12 and a signal C obtained from the inversion of a signal A from the paper detecting element 11 with an inverter 13 and a circuit 15 which outputs a paper breakage detection signal E for a specified time by an output D from the AND circuit 14 while resetting the flip flop 12. |
