PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain display extremely easy to observe by preventing dot line like display or the display of an unnecessary signal on the surface of a CRT tube, by using a noise signal having no periodicity and regularity as a change-over signal. CONSTITUTION:The irregular noise signal from a Zener diode 20 is amplified by transistors 21, 22 while the amplified signals is added to a band controller consisting of a coil 23, a capacitor 24 and a resistor 25 and a signal having a desired frequency component is inputted to a wave form shaping circuit 26. In this case, a change-over circuit 5 successively changes over output signals of amplifiers 3, 4 on the basis of the output of said circuit 26 and inputs the same to an output amplifier 6. By this mechanism, the change-over of the vertical axis system of a multitrace oscilloscope can be performed at a cycle having no relation to a sweep signal at all and a channel change-over state is not displayed in a stationary state or a state near thereto. In addition, perfectly same effect is obtained oven in automatic sweep for bringing a signal to be measured to a free run state without signal.
