PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having an excellent magnetic characteristic, durability, etc. by providing a magnetic layer incorporated therein with two kinds of respectively specific lubricating agents with a resin curable by electron rays having the branched molecular structure of a specific number or above having a polyester part in a specific mol.wt. range as a binder. CONSTITUTION:A resin curable by electron rays which is an acrylic-modified polyurethane resin having a pentafunctional or higher functional branched molecular structure contg. the polyester part of 2,000-4,000mol.wt. obtd. by reaction of 1,4-butandiol, 1,3-propylene glycol, etc. and adipic acid, etc. as skeleton and having 20,000-50,000mol.wt. over the entire part is used for binding magnetic powder. The polyester expressed by the formula I (R<1>, R<2> are alkyl of 12-18C) and two kinds of the compds. expressed by the formula II (R<1>, R<2> are the same as above) are added in combination as a lubricating agent to such binder. The magnetic recording medium having excellent adhesion to a base, good dispersibility of magnetic powder and excellent wear resistance, durability, etc. is obtd. by using the magnetic paint contg. such binder and lubricating agent.
