The invention relates to a method and a device for continuously measuring the degree of impregnation of conducting fibres. The subject of the invention is a method for continuously measuring the degree of impregnation with any liquid of wires or fibres conducting electricity, in which method the wires or fibres are passed through a microwave cavity orthogonally to the direction of propagation of the microwaves in the said cavity and the variations in the microwave power transmitted by the cavity or reflected thereby are continuously measured, the said method being characterised in that the axis of the wires or fibres 16 is constrained inside the cavity 8 to remain strictly orthogonal both to the said direction of propagation 14 of the microwaves and to the direction of the electric field @ generated in the cavity.
