Device for the bacteriological treatment of liquids or fluids by irradiation. It consists of at least one rigid outer tubular enclosure 1 of elliptical internal section provided with a reflecting inner surface 2, containing a conduit for circulation of fluid 4 coaxial with one of the focal axes of an elliptical enclosure 1, the wall of this conduit 4 being transparent to the ultraviolet, as well as at least one tubular ultraviolet lamp 3 coaxial with the other focal axis of a tubular enclosure 1, the space 10 included between the outer enclosure 1 and the inner tubes 3, 4 being filled with a fluid transparent to the ultraviolet, such as air or another gas. <IMAGE>
