摘要 A temperature control device for internal combustion engines is proposed, which in the area of the internal combustion engine exhaust or inlet has two branch pipes parallel to one another, each containing thermostat valves which are connected to the radiator and are both additionally connected to the bypass line. One thermostat valve is adjusted to an opening temperature of 80 DEG C and the other to an opening temperature of 105 DEG C. Both branch pipes are connected by way of a control valve, which can be switched to one or the other, to the internal combustion engine inlet or exhaust. The branch pipe containing the 80 DEG thermostat valve is open at full load whilst the other is then closed. The branch pipe containing the 105 DEG thermostat valve is open at partial load whilst the other is then closed. Switching over is performed by means of the control valve as a function of external, engine-related variables, such as intake pipe vacuum, accelerator pedal position or the like. Improved adjustment of the operating temperature to the engine load condition can thereby be achieved and hence an improved utilisation of fuel with significant savings.
