A roller comprises an annular portion 11 of rubber, neoprene or urethane grooved at 13 to retain a cover 14 and moulded on to a metallic sleeve 13, the latter having portions 18, 24, 22 of varying internal diameters for the reception of interchangeable type mounting members. As shown in Fig. 2 the portion 18 is screw-threaded for the reception of a split nut 30 securing a trunnion shaft 28 of the same diameter as the sleeve portion 22. For a shaft of smaller diameter a nut 30 of the appropriate internal diameter is used in conjunction with a liner inserted in the sleeve 12, Fig. 3 (not shown). In the form according to Fig. 4 the intermediate sleeve portion 24 receives the outer race 42 of a bearing carried by a shaft 38. The resilient annular member 11 may be solid or formed with axially extending slots or recesses, Figs. 5, 6 (not shown), while its outer surface may be helically grooved, Fig. 7 (not shown). |
