<p>The rotary abrading disc is for use on power hand drills and is designed for removing paint. The disc has a series of studs (4') projecting at intervals from the active face. The studs have elastic supports which yield elastically during the abrading operation. The studs (4') are of hollow circular cross-section, bear on an aft elastic layer (6), and are guided axially. The guidage is arranged by passing each stud through coaxial holes in two interspaced discs (11'). The axis of each stud is slightly inclined in opposition to the direction of disc rotation, and tolerant guide holes permit each stud to rotate during operation. The disc may have a central opening (9) for the vacuum removal of parings and the studs may be arranged in a spiral pattern.</p> |
