PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording having improved running durability and corrosion resistance by providing an org. high polymer compd. film on a thin ferromagnetic metallic film formed on a base body as a protective layer and sticking a lubricating agent of fluorine or fatty acid (salt) on the protective layer. CONSTITUTION:A thin ferromagnetic film 8 consisting of a metal such as Co, Fe, Ni or the like or the alloy thereof is formed on a base body 1 consisting of a polyester film, etc. and thereafter a protective film 9 is formed on the surface of the film 8 by plasma polymn. of hydrocarbon such as ethylene, org. fluorine compd. such as C2F4 and org. silicon compd. such as tetramethylsilane. A soln. of higher fatty acid such as myristic acid or the like or the salt thereof is coated on the surface of the film 9 and is dried to form a lubricant layer 10. The magnetic recording medium A having excellent durability and corrosion resistance is thus obtd. without influencing adversely the characteristic of the film 8. |
