The invention relates to a matrix display screen for texts or graphics in which the colouring of the points is provided by a hydro-electromagnetic mechanism. Each of the points of the matrix consists of a three-dimensional movable lamp with a magnetic rotor floating in the liquid of a transparent housing equipped with a magnetic stator surrounding the rotor. An appropriate electrical control for each of the stators allows the movable lamp to be turned to the face allowing the desired colour or sign to be presented. This invention is designed for remotely displaying visual text or graphics messages intended for people situated within visual range, that is to say to fulfil the function of a large-scale computer terminal screen. Among the most beneficial applications may be quoted image-based advertising, public information, road signposting, etc. <IMAGE>
