The invention relates to gas-burning appliances which are equipped with a balanced flue outlet. According to the invention, the balanced flue outlet 30 of a heating appliance 10 passes through a partition 33 and is connected to a box 15 placed in a part P1 of the roof spaces of a construction which is ventilated by an air vent 46. The box 15 comprises an open bottom 16, a lateral opening 18 for the connection of the balanced flue outlet, and a top 19 comprising a passage 20 for the connection of a discharge pipe 34. Whatever the atmospheric conditions outside, particularly the direction and strength of the wind, the box 15 ensures that the appliance operates correctly. Application to appliances for heating or for producing household hot water, of the type having a balanced flue outlet, which are placed in a location in which it is impossible to make the balanced flue outlet pass through a facade wall. <IMAGE>
