Conc., low sudsing detergent compsn. - contg. nonionic and anionic surfactants and a self emulsified silicone suds regulator, used to clean fabrics

A conc. homogeneous low-sudsing liq. detergent comprises 10-50 wt. % nonionic surfactant (I); 10-50 wt. % anionic surfactant (II); plus a silicone suds controlling agent (III) and an emulsifier (IV) to make (III) self-emulsifiable. The total amt. of surfactant is >30% and the ratio of (I): (II) is 1.8-8:1 based on the free acid form of (II). Pref. the compsn. contains 1-45 wt. % solvent i.e. water or aq. alcohol (esp. ethanol). (III) is esp. a mixt. of a fluid polydimethylsiloxane, a siloxane resin and a silica aerogel while (IV) is pref. a polyoxyalkylated siloxane or a polyethoxoylated fatty acid. Excellent pre-wash and through-wash fabric cleaning with better control of sudsing than that achieved with known suds regulators. The compsns. are storage stable.
