<p>A method of reducing and/or preventing the attack on cellulosic materials prods. by termites comprises contacting the material with a compsn. contg. a quaternary ammonium salt of a pyridinol cpd. of formula (I) (OA is in the 2- or 4-position, A = quaternary ammonium gp., each X = Cl, F, Br or I. n = 0-4). Prefd. (I) are the quaternary ammonium salt of 3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinol, the diethanolamine salt of 3,5,6-trichloro 2-pyridinol and the n-butylamine salt of 3,5,6-trichloro-2 pyridinol.</p> |
