<p>The plate stacking mechanism is particularly for use in conjunction with a saw parting the plates into sections, where before a stack is thrust onto the support or an existing partial stack a slide is inserted between them. The individual slides (1, 11) can alter in cross-section, being inserted in the vertical position to give the necessary stiffness. They are then swung into the flat position to allow the stack to be thrust over them, after which they are extracted without any tipping taking place. The cross-sectional shape can be altered by erecting two adjacent strips (1, 11) into a roof ridge section, the strips pivoting together along their adjacent edges.</p> |
