PURPOSE:To provide high adhesiveness and flexibility and to extend the life of a liquid crystal display body with which flexible base plates such as plastic base plates are used by subjecting the sealing part of said display body to double sealing by using a resin having lower reactivity with a liquid crystal on the inside and a resin having low water permeability on the outside. CONSTITUTION:The sealing part of a liquid crystal display body with which flexible plastics such as polyester, polysulfone or the like are used as base plates 1, 1' is sealed by using a sealing part 3 consisting of, for example, a silicone resin having low reactivity with a liquid crystal on the liquid crystal layer 2 side and a sealing part 4 consisting of, for example, an epoxy resin having low water permeability on the outside. A sealing part 5 is similarly double sealed. Deterioration of the liquid crystal by reaction with the silicone resin is thus obviated and the plates 1, 1' are powerfully joined. The epoxy resin prevents the liquid crystal from being deteriorated by penetration of moisture. Flexibility is provided to both resins to eliminate exfoliation, etc. and the display body having a long life is thus obtd. |
