PURPOSE:To obtain magnetic powder for a composite magnet having an improved magnetic characteristic through a high-temperature and short-time process, by performing an annealing in the use of an external heating-type rotary kiln with pulverizing means. CONSTITUTION:Pulverizing powder of a raw material mixture having a composition expressed in a general formula of MO.nFe2O3 (where M are one or more kinds of Ba, Sr, and Pb, n=5.0-6.2) is put into an external heating-type rotary kiln and annealed at the temperature higher than 800 deg.C while the pulverizing process is performed. Because the heat treatment is performed with pulverizing powder being fully dispersed inside the rotary kiln, the pulverizing powder is prevented from cohering together, and the annealing can be performed at high temperature, with a magnetic characteristic of magnetic powder, which is obtained at the final stage, being improved. Besides, capability of annealing at high temperature shortens the annealing time and contributes improvement of productivity. |
