To avoid complicated and difficult operations, occurring in particular in the installation trade, when shortening pipes in a constrained position, e.g. short pipe ends projecting from a wall, and to make a new pipe thread as desired, the die-head, due to a fitted milling head, is able to cut threads of standard length on the pipe in one operation and at the same time to shorten the pipe to the desired size. The milling head is fitted into or onto the die-head, adapted for these requirements of the thread-cutting technique, or is screwed onto the die-head from behind.
