The gas turbine has a rotor wheel (4) carrying a series of blades (2) on its circumference in a housing (49), the blades (2) occupying only a part of the wheel circumference. The remaining part of the circumference is designed as a cylindrically curved surface (8), the radius of which is equal to that of the orbit of the outer ends of the blades. When the series of blades (2) on the rotor wheel (1) passes a gas outlet nozzle (31) of an assigned combustion chamber (10), its combustible gas charge is ignited. The combustion gas produced in the process passes directly on to the blades of the series of blades (2) and drives the rotor wheel (1). The gas turbine according to the invention avoids both the disadvantage of incomplete combustion of the fuel in conventional piston combustion engines and the disadvantage of the high fuel demand in ordinary gas turbines. <IMAGE>
