The equipment has a shaft tower of pyramidal form, with the shaft (3) of the wind wheel (4) mounted on it in bearings (1,2). One of the edges of the tower is the shaft (3) and the base is formed by the triangle of rods (not shown), while the side face, on the ground, is formed by another triangle of rods with supports (10). The tower also has wheels (11) and the gear (12) for taking up the power. The wind drives the vanes of wheel (4), rotating shaft (3), and at the same time the whole tower is turned round its axis located in wheel (11) by the wind until it faces into the wind. The gear (12) for extracting the wind power is located near the ground and this facilitates assembly, repair and use. The structure of the tower is designed for max. lightness and max. stability, with simple rods all arranged in triangles, while one of the sides is supplied by shaft (3) of the wind or vane wheel (4), reducing overall weight. |
