PURPOSE:To mass produce L-lysine from a culture, by cultivating a bacterium of Coryne type containing a gene arrangement to code production information of protein having diaminopimelic acid decarboxylase activity, having a specific recombinant DNA. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium of Coryne type containing the above-mentioned gene arrangement, having a recombinant DNA into which a DNA fragment having 2.9 + or -0.5 megadalton, two PstI sites, two SalI sites, two Hind sites, and one ClaI site, producing small fragments having 1.9 megadalton, etc. during scission with PstI is inserted, is prepared. Brevibacterium saccharoliticum ATCC14066 is used as the bacterium of Coryne type useful as a donor strain. The bacterium of Coryne type, namely, a bacterium capable of producing L-lysine, is cultivated by a process similar to a well-known process of a bacterium capable of producing lysine, to prepare L-lysine in a higher yield than that of a well-known process to use an artificial variant such as Brevibacterium, etc. |
