Such a nuclear reactor installation has a containment and buildings arranged within the latter whose walls or ceilings adjoin the containment leaving a gap. In order to seal this gap in an airtight fashion, there are bonded to the inner wall of the containment, and to the adjoining ceilings or walls, retaining elements which have a limb projecting from the bonding site. A foil carrier is detachably connected to the projecting limb. A foil attached to the foil carrier is connected in an overlapping fashion to a foil arranged opposite, in such a way that after it has been joined a sag remains which is sufficient for compensating the thermal expansion.
