PURPOSE:To measure various liquids with slight pressure loss for a broad range of flow rate, by a flowmeter characterized by the constitution, wherein a structure is simple, the mass at a movable part is small, and the opening areas of sucking and discharging ports are large, based on the motion of a flat, tubular, rotary ring, which is operated as a valve for inlet and outlet ports. CONSTITUTION:A measuring chamber member 1 is a tubular body having a space, which is to become a measuring chamber in the inside. The opening parts at both ends thereof are closed by end surface members 2 and 3. Pairs of ports 2a and 2a' and 2b and 2b' are opened in the inside of the measuring chamber at the end surface member 2. Pipe connecting parts, which are connected to the ports, are attached to pipe connecting members 6 and 7. A shaft member 4 penetrates through the measuring chamber. The tip of the member is contacted with the inner end surface of the end surface member 2. A rotor 5 has an ellipse shaped axial hole. The rotor 5 can be freely rotated by the shaft member 4. The rotor can freely slide in the direction of the major axis but is restrained so that the rotor can not be moved in the direction of the minor axis. The rotor receives the pressure of fluid flowing the ports 2a and 2a' and 2b and 2b' and performs the relative motion which is the combination of the rotary motion in the specified direction and the reciprocal motion in the direction of the major axis. |
