PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity by detecting changes in the position of the liquid surface in terms of variations in the capacitance. CONSTITUTION:Spacers 4a and 4b are provided to form a clearance between a pair of parallel flat plates 2a and 2b and a sliding element 6 is arranged in the clearance in contact thereof. This sliding element 6 is grasped with a float member 8 from both ends thereof being joined together therewith 8 in such a manner as to slide on the parallel flat plates 2a and 2b lengthwise. An electrode layer 10a made of aluminum is formed in a triangle on the surface of the parallel flat plate 2a so as to decrease linearly in the area per slide unit length along the length thereof. The liquid level is detected in terms of changes in the capacitance between elecdrode layers. |
