A display arrangement for an aircraft head-up display system having a combiner assembly (13) comprising a tuned reflective optical film (33), through which an observer views the distant scene and a fully reflective concave mirror (35) above the film at an angle to the film such that the spacing between the film and mirror decreases in a direction away from the observer. Light from a projector arrangement (11) below the combiner is incident on the film at an angle such that it is first transmitted through the film and is then reflected back onto the film by the mirror at an angle such that the film reflects the light to the observer. The combiner is adapted for suspension from an overhead member e.g. a cockpit canopy (27) on which it may be movable between a non-operational forward position and an operational position nearer the pilot. <IMAGE> |
