PURPOSE:To eliminate the picking miss, by widening the guiding and collecting part of a web-collecting member placed in front of a calender roller, inserting the tip of the web into the widened part and collecting the web by narrowing the guiding and collecting part after picking. CONSTITUTION:A collecting member 10 is erected between the collecting member 9 and the calender rollers 7, 8 in a vertically slidable manner. In the case of picking, the collecting member 10 is lifted to position the window 16 of the collecting member 10 to the level including the guiding and collecting part 15 of the collecting member 9. The path of the web W is widened to the size of the insertion part 15b to enable the picking smoothly and quickly without miss. After the picking of the web, the collecting member 10 is lowered to the original position and the path of the web W is narrowed to the size of the narrow part 15c. |
