PURPOSE:To improve recording efficiency by forming a magnetic pole part continuously to an upper magnetic layer on the magnetic gap side of the upper magnetic layer so that the thickness of the magnetic pole part is larger than that of other parts of the upper magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic pole part 8 is formed continuously to the upper magnetic layer 4 on the magnetic gap 5 side of the upper magnetic layer 4. The thickness of the magnetic pole part 8 is made larger than that of other parts of the upper magnetic layer 4. Consequently, the sectional area of a magnetic path in a gap part is increased and the whole magnetic pole part can be uniformly magnetized without locally generating magnetic saturation on the deepest side of the magnetic pole part as use to be in the conventional case. Thus, magnetic flux density at the leading end of the magnetic pole part 8 can be increased, so that a recording magnetic field can be increased and the recording efficiency can be improved. |
