PURPOSE:To produce a novel antibiotic substance chloropolysporin effective mainly to Gram-positive bacteria, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Micromonospora genus. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain belonging to Micromonospora genus and capable of producing the antibiotic substance, chloropolysoporin, e.g. Micromonospora sp.SANK60983 (FERM-P No.6985), is cultured in a nearly neutral medium at 24-30 deg.C, preferably about 28 deg.C, and the objective antibiotic substance, chloropolysporin is separated mainly from the culture liquid. |
