PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution and to attain various displays with simple control by eliminating a conventional sentence control section, replacing a refresh RAM of a display control section into a sentence ROM and allowing a main body control section to control directly the display device. CONSTITUTION:A main body control section of a copying machine commands an address corresponding to each sentence of the sentence ROM 21 storing various sentences via an interface 20 and a sentence to be displayed is designated. A timing controller 22 commands the address for each character of the designated sentence of the sentence ROM 21, allows a character generator 23 to convert the designate character into a dot pattern for display, allows a display driver 24 to designate a prescribed location on a display panel 26 and allows a display driver 25 to display the dot pattern on a designated location. The display panel 26 uses a fluorescent display tube so as to display one line and 20 characters over two lines. |
