A switch has a housing (21), a push-button element (10), a contact element and contact pins (31, 32). The push-button element (10) can move the contact element into a plurality of switch positions in which the contact element produces or interrupts an electrical connection between the contact pins (31, 32). In this case, the contact element is a multi-layer spiral spring (20), and, in the switch position corresponding to an electrical connection, the contact pins (31, 32) engage in the space between two adjacent turns of the spiral spring (20) (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
