PRODUCTION OF MATERIAL HAVING BOSS AT CENTER OF FLANGE-SHAPED PART

PURPOSE:To make a casting strong and light and to reduce cost by embedding a steel plate punched with holes by pressing with a molten cast iron by casting then punching holes for bolting. CONSTITUTION:A steel plate 8 punched with a central hole 6 and a circumferential hole 7 in prescribed position is prepd. A drag 4 for casting is then set and the plate 8 is set in the position formed with a boss part 2 on the core 5 between said drag and a cope 9 then the cope 9 is set. A molten metal is poured between the drag 9 and the cope 4 to cast a flange part 1 and the boss part 2 and at the same time the plate 8 is embedded in the molten metal by casting, by which the casting is completed. The casting 3 is then taken out and mounting holes 10 for insertion of bolts for attaching the hub are punched to the boss part 2 for attaching.
