PURPOSE:To make the sectional area of a running path small-sized by constituting a circular rail with plural arc blocks connected freely bendably and operating remotely the actuator inserted to each connection node to fold them in or stretch them to a circle freely. CONSTITUTION:Arc blocks 5b and 5g are stretched into a semicircular shape before a running truck 4 is carried from a guide pipe 24 into a protective pipe 2, and the running truck 4 is carried into the protective pipe 2 and is moved to the position of a welding line to be examined of a piping 1. An arc block 5a, an examination carrier 20, and an examination truck 21 are allowed to rise by a vertical moving mechanism to bring a guide roller 22 into contact with the outside circumferential face of the piping 1. In this state, arc blocks 5c, 5d, 5e, and 5f are stretched into a circle, and a locking actuator 12 is engaged with a U- shaped metallic tool 13. Next, the examination carrier 20 is moved in the circumferential direction along a rail 19a with rack and a guide rail 19b of a circular rail 5, and the examination truck 21 is moved back and forth in the axial direction of the piping 1, thereby scanning the welding line to be examined with an examination sensor 7. |
